Job Duties and Requirements
Requires Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering plus two years of experience as Project Engineer or Assistant Project Engineer. The candidate must have the following experience: investigating existing subsurface conditions and materials; determining their physical/mechanical and chemical properties that are relevant to the project requirements and employ the physical data to evaluate the interaction between the earthworks or structure foundations with the earth materials; utilizing knowledge of soil and rock properties, subsurface exploration techniques and analytical methods to evaluate soil/structure interaction; using various software packages to perform their analytical duties and basic geotechnical engineering methods to evaluate soil settlement, stability of slopes, seepage and lateral stability to provide data, information and analytical results to the senior staff; and performing geotechnical analyses using computer software including SEEPIW for seepage analyses, SLOPEIW for slope stability analyses, and GMS-MODFLOW for groundwater flow simulations.
